How to choose a graphic design or video editing institute in Ahmedabad

Searching for the best graphic design classes, video editing classes or design colleges in Ahmedabad? The word "best" depends on what you need, so compare each option on the same questions.

Remember that a design college and a design skill institute are different things. Colleges award degrees over several years, while a skill institute such as BrainZ focuses on practical, job-ready skills. Many students do both.

Choosing where to study is a big decision. Fees, travel and months of your time are at stake. Use these nine questions to compare any institute in Ahmedabad, including BrainZ.

1. Can you see what you will learn?

A good institute shows a clear list of topics or a syllabus. Ask for it in writing.

2. Is the fee clear, and what does it include?

Ask for the full fee, what it covers and what is extra. Be careful if nobody will tell you the fee until you pay a deposit.

3. Are there honest ways to pay?

Many students prefer to pay in parts. Ask about scholarship, education loan and EMI, and get the terms in writing. Be careful of anyone who promises the same offer to everyone.

4. Who teaches you?

Ask about the faculty's experience and meet them. Visiting the centre and meeting the teachers is the best way to judge the teaching.

5. Is the training practical?

You learn design and editing by doing. Ask how much of the course is practical work.

6. Can you see real student work?

Ask to see projects made by students, not only posters. Good work shows good teaching.

7. Is the centre easy to reach?

You will travel there for months. Visit the centre and check the location suits you. BrainZ is on Ashram Road, in central Ahmedabad.

8. Ask for proof behind big promises

Be careful of promises of guaranteed jobs. Ask for the names, companies and years behind any placement claim. A trustworthy institute is happy to answer.

9. Do they offer counselling?

A good counsellor listens first and then advises. They should help you choose the right course, not push the most expensive one.
